About Me

My names Harps Kaur and I’m a mummy to two – my precious little toddler, Arjun, and my little superstar homie with an extra chromie, Saajan.  I’ve been married to Preetam for five years and we live in London.
I started my blog when Arjun was 25 weeks old/almost 6 months.

I share my real life experiences with my readers, including the highs and lows of motherhood for me and my journey through PND and pregnancy post PND.   I journal our travel adventures and often share both weaning and non baby related recipes –  I have an Instagram page dedicated to the mini vegetarian meals I create for Arjun.  I’ve also become known for my party planning skills – it’s definitely my forte! I loved planning Arjun’s jungle themed first birthday bash and equally loved planning his construction themed second birthday! I sometimes delve in to the world of beauty to mask the evidence of sleepless nights!

Our second son was born with his surprise diagnosis of Down Syndrome.  To say it’s been an easy ride emotionally would be a lie – once we’d overcome the initial shock of his diagnosis, we also had to embark on our journey through seeing our little soldier endure open heart surgery.  Two life events that we never ever imagined we’d be facing!

Despite having a rocky start to 2017, we are embracing and enjoying life to it’s absolute fullest! Through Saajan we have learnt so much about life and so much about Down Syndrome – it really isn’t the end of the world at all like we’d first thought!

My blog was crowned the Best Pre School Blog in the MAD Blog Awards 2016.

Some interesting (or not so interesting!) facts about me/us:

  • We got married in Goa in 2012
  • We have a Rottweiler called Bruno
  • We are of the Sikh faith
  • Arjun was born in June 2014
  • Saajan was born in December 2016
  • I have twin sisters and twins run in my family! Yikes!
  • My husband lived in China for two years
  • My favourite foods are pizza and Nutella
  • We love to travel and have visited India, Jamaica, Rome, Paris, Malaysia, Thailand, Dubai (x3!), The Maldives, Singapore, Bali, Abu Dhabi and Santorini in the last four years
  • I’m obsessed with clouds
  • I’m a sucker for party planning
  • I have my own baby and adult clothing line where I sew everything myself – Baby Brain Apparel!
  • I came fifth in the world in one of my accounting exams
  • I’m a part time Finance Manager

Thank you for riding our journey with us! xoxo

Work with me

I run a PR friendly blog and I’m more than happy to discuss opportunities and work with companies/brands if I feel they fit with our lifestyle and audience. If in doubt, ask 🙂

Baby Brain Memoirs was recently crowned the Best Pre School Blog in the Mum & Dad (MAD) Blog Awards 2016 out of over 10,000 blogs – the nations largest parenting blog awards.

I’ve worked with companies such as Quorn, The Gro Company, Fusion Lifestyle, Astro Palace Suites (Santorini), Lopesan Boabab Resort (Gran Canaria), Spinmaster, Skip Hop, Asda, Vileda, JW Marriott Khao Lak (Phuket, Thailand), Mother & Baby Magazine and have recently been interviewed by the BBC Asian Network. We are also brand ambassadors for one of our favourite baby food brands, Organix.

I’m available to write blog posts from a vegetarian-British born Asian-everything must be done perfectly-sucker for crafts-loves a bit of travel-party planning-mummy perspective for appropriate coverage of my time. I have worked with brands on social media coverage to increase brand awareness as well as hosting competitions and giveaways.  I’m always up for discussing creative ways to work with brands depending on your needs.

    Hey Harps,
Just wanted to say your such an inspiration, an amazing mummy and I love reading about your journey. You have such an adorable little boy (may waheguru bless him) so I’m Amrit I just had a little girl in January, now 14 weeks and we named her Gurmillie. Reading your blogs and Instagram is something I normally do when feeding Gurmillie. It keeps me going and awake. I have to say your doing an amazing job and love how u have now got me motivated to also follow in your footsteps especially when it comes to weaning her later on. I look forward to carrying on your journey with you and Arjun. Also as soon as I started following you about a week ago I had to vote for you as you are truly great at being a mummy and blogger for the rest of us mummy’s.

Lots of love from Amrit and Gurmillie

    Hello Harps,
I’d just like to start by saying congratulations on your blog and thank you for showing us the life you lead with your very handsome and beautiful family.
I’m currently in the genetic screening process with our second child. Did you know that baby Saajan had Down Syndrome before he was born?
