Throwback to Last Year – Our Safari Nursery

As you may have gathered, I’m a sucker for themes and love going all out! So deciding on a nursery theme was my perfect opportunity to do just that!

We always knew we wanted a jungle theme as it’s unisex and we both love animals. It’s also educational.

I searched high and low on the Internet and sod’s law the only thing I absolutely LOVED was the Lamb’s and Ivy Safari Express themed set – and it was only stocked by Babies R Us in the US and geuss what?! They don’t deliver to the UK! That wasn’t going to hold me back though! Thankfully Preetam has friends that live in America and they were kind enough to arrange for the items to be couriered over to us.

I ordered the bundle which cost $169.99 which included a few bits that I didn’t really need but I wasn’t able to purchase each part separately. The 9 piece set includes:

  • A quilt: We ended up using this as a portable play mat when Arjun was really young for when we used to take him places. He used to love the cute animals on it and it helped encourage tummy time.
  • 2 fitted sheets
  • A diaper stacker: we didn’t really need a diaper stacker so we used this as a small toy stacker.
  • A window valence
  • Three piece wall decor: I love this!
  • A dust ruffle

In addition, I also purchased:

In addition, I also invested in a Large teddy toy hammock which is brilliant for storing all (well most of!) his soft toys.

And these super cute wall animal heads which Arjun loves babbling to whilst having his nappy changed!:

And finally, when we went on our babymoon to Dubai, Preetam stumbled upon these cute little babies at duty free which we couldn’t resist!

Yes it may have cost me a little extra but I was over the moon with the finished product!! The super cute bedding, the adorable little wall decals, the wall friends and the hanging teddies all made it perfect.

He absolutely loves his nursery and it was part of the reason we decided to move him in to his own room at 4 months. He likes talking to the wall decals and has lots to look around at. The colours are bright, vibrant and fun and he definitely loves being in his own space!

If you’re interested in how I organised Arjun’s drawers and closets, you can find that here.

What did you go for? – I’d love to see some of your nursery pictures! 🙂
