Baby Brain Weekly Memoir … 15th May …Arjun the Social Butterfly!

Hello all!

So this week was our first week back from holiday – back to reality and it sucks a little!

I’ve really mentally and physically struggled this week – a combination of jet lag and not being able to catch up on sleep, Arjun’s constant waking at night, co-sleeping (he sleeps horizontal so Preetam and I are literally falling off the bed!), reduced naps (only one now if I’m lucky!) and a Duracell bunny Arjun (Arjun vs mummy), has left me absolutely knackered. I feel a bit like world’s worst mum at the moment as I’ve been counting down the minutes till Preetam gets home or till Arjun’s nap as I just can’t seem to find the energy to manage everything at once. The part I’ve definitely struggled with the most is his new found inquisition – I miss my boy that would happily play with his toys or eat his meals without the slightest distraction!

Arjun vs Mummy!

So the last few days have been pretty interesting (and tiring) in our household!

Arjun has suddenly decided to go exploring with no holding back whatsoever.

Not going to lie, I’ve struggled! With being back from holiday and alone with him again and this sudden upsurge in energy on his part and the sudden drain of energy on mine, it’s been exhausting!

I love that his personality is developing, but he’s a typical boy! I miss the days where I could put him in one place and know he’d stay put! But I also love seeing his quirkiness as tiring as it is.

30 for 30! … Gratitude

Hey all,

Yesterday marked my 30th birthday. Usually I’m not really affected by birthdays and they’re just another day. But for some reason this one has moved me ever so slightly. Although 30 seems like a big number, I felt unbelievably grateful for my life. Preetam and Arjun made it very special.

My Mini Meltdown this Morning

As you probably already know, I’ve shared my journey of motherhood – my highs and my lows.
It’s been (it feels like) a while since I really had a breakdown related to Arjun. This morning has made me realise that I’m still quite vulnerable and easily get myself in to a crazy state.

Baby Brain Weekly Memoir … Cake Tasting, Co-sleeping, Friends n Food!

Hello all!
Hope you’ve all had a good week!
Here’s what we’ve been up to …
Last Saturday we had a family BBQ for Preetam’s birthday which you can read up more on here: Preetam’s Birthday

Last Sunday we went over to friends, Sonia and Guv’s to meet their beautiful baby Avleen. Arjun of course loved Avleen and spent any given opportunity rushing towards her with his one sided crawl! Haha! Avleen is absolutely gorgeous and such a sweet little baby. Sonia and Guv have such a calm demeanour to them – it’s so endearing and something I wish I could adopt more!

Our Vegetarian Weaning Journey!

Hello all!

Hope you’re keeping well.

I’ve been requested by a few people to do a post on weaning and so have shared the main bits and bobs of our weaning journey by answering the questions below direct.  If you have any specific questions, give me a shout!

When did you start weaning Arjun?

We didn’t stick to the NHS guidelines of weaning at 6 months although I did try. Arjun was such a hungry baby and was on 240 ml pretty quick. We also tried extra hungry milk which didn’t seem to satisfy him either. He’d often look at our food and try and reach for it – that coupled with his growing appetite, we thought we’d give weaning a go at 4.5 months.

Arjun’s First Vaisakhi & Nagar Kirtan :)

Hello all,

Hope you’re keeping well!

Wednesday 14th April marked the 316th birthday of the Khalsa  – known as Vaisakhi. The Khalsa refers to those who collectively lead their lives as Sikhs in the image of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.  I thought I’d share a little background about Vaisakhi and Sikhism as it’s such an important part of my life 🙂

What is Vaisakhi?
