Baby Brain Weekly Memoir … Baby TV 1st Birthday, A Baby Shower, Vaisakhi & Odd’s Farm! … 17th April 2015

Hello All!

Hope you had a great week!

We had a fun filled and pretty busy week!

On Saturday we had three functions – it was Arjun’s big sister Jeeya’s first birthday! We had the children’s party in the afternoon and a family party to celebrate in the evening.

I can’t believe a year has already passed. I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday – I was heavily pregnant and just a few months from giving birth and it all felt so surreal at the time.  But now our little princess is a year old and turning in to a right little madam! It’s been remarkable to watch her journey – as there’s only a few months between Arjun and Jeeya, it’s been amazing to see Jeeya reach a milestone and then watch Arjun mimic it a few months later when he plays catch up.  I’m so glad he’s blessed with lots of baby cousins to grow up with.  Watching Jeeya and Arjun interact from when they were so little to now has been fascinating. They are so cute together!  My cousin put together a beautiful montage of Jeeya’s first year – it was such a nice reflection of the past year and how much (and how quick!) she’s grown and was definitely tear jerking!

Daddy’s Birthday – Gurdwara, Farm n Food!

Hello All,

Hope you’re keeping well!

Thursday marked Preetam’s 31st birthday! His first as a daddy so we had to make it special.  All he’d asked for was a family day and wasn’t too bothered about what we did as long as Arjun was happy. I could appreciate this as that’s exactly what I wanted for Mother’s Day – I wasn’t bothered about materialistic gifts – especially as we have the most precious gift ever now, I just wanted to spend quality time as a family as we don’t often get to. We decided to opt for something pretty chilled out and it turned out to be a really nice day.

Baby Brain Weekly Memoir … 10th April 2015

Hello all!

Hope you’re had a fabulous week and made the most of this stunning weather!

This week was quite relaxing and we managed to get in some outdoors fun too – though not as much as I’d hoped for!

Arjun had his first trip to the park this week with his Nanaji and Harv masi and I later joined them.  It was the park that my dad used to take us girls to when we were little so there must have been a moment of nostalgia for my dad.  Arjun loved being at the park and was so excited by all the children around him that were shrieking with excitement running from the swings to the slides to the climbing frame – soon that’ll be him!

Baby Brain Weekly Memoir: 3rd April 2015

Hello all!
Hope you all had a great week and a great Easter weekend!
Unfortunately as we had a family wedding, we didn’t get to do much for Easter but we did have lots of fun celebrating the marriage of my cousin Ish and his beautiful bride Kiran!
I thought I’d do a separate post on the wedding but here’s a quick recap of what we got up to the rest of the week!
️Arjun had a photoshoot this week which he was happy to play ball with where it came to single shots but not so happy when it came to family shots – I think we were cramping his style!
️Arjun also had two play dates with his big sister Shaan this week. He is absolutely crazy about her and I love watching him laugh uncontrollably when with her. He loves other children especially at that age. Shaan does such a great job at taking care of him.

Baby Brain Weekly Memoir … 27th March 2015

Hello all!

Hope you’ve had a good week! This post is a little late as we had a very busy Saturday yesterday!

Last Saturday night I had my first night out in London since I’ve been pregnant! It was for my friend Ruby’s hen. Preetam kept Arjun home and they had a daddy son evening whilst mummy went out and let her hair loose a little.

I had such a brilliant time catching up with the girls – some of which I hadn’t seen in over 10 years. We had lots of laughs reminiscing about the past and how much we’ve grown up. We started the evening off by playing hen games in a hotel room (LOTS OF LAUGHS) and later headed out to a restaurant called Momos just off Regent’s Street.  We had so much fun celebrating . It was also nice to go out with other mums and share our experiences – we were all excited to have a night off but we’re all yawning a lot earlier than the baby less mummies!

9 Months In … 9 Months Out!

Wow! I can’t believe Arjun is a whole 9 months! The same duration as I was pregnant .. 9 months in 9 months out!

We’ve known each other a whole 18 months where the first 9 months only we shared a special bond that we understood. Such a personal bond – just him and I. Where he relied on me to keep him alive and I relied on him to keep me going.

Change … Unloading my Thoughts

Why do I struggle so much with change? Arjun has just started crawling and its made me so irrational.  I always deal with change this way but struggling more so with this!

It’s normal for a baby to grow and develop and start reaching their milestones. I am proud, super proud. But why do I also feel so sad?! Why do I feel like I’m already losing him?  He’s 8 months! Get a grip woman!  I wish he’d slow down!
The whole last 8 months feels like one big fat blur! I want to rewind back to when my baby was only relying on me. Now he’s on the move, I feel like that’s gone. I feel like I’ve lost something. I want him to reach out to ME when he wants something.  I’m being irrational I know. But I can’t seem to snap out of it!

My First Mother’s Day!

Hello all!

Hope you had a super special Mother’s Day! I’m still walking on air since yesterday – I had the best day ever. It was a pretty simple day but it was just perfect! I got to spend time with all the people that matter!

We had decided to take Arjun to Singh Sabha Gurdwara (Sikh temple) on Sunday morning at 4am for Simran (a form of meditation repeating God’s name on the harmonium) as a surprise for my mum and because I wanted to start the day off there. My mum goes everyday (for the last 30 years!) at 4am and I knew it would be the perfect Mother’s Day gift for her to have her grandson there for the first time. I also really wanted Arjun to meet all the lovely people that had gifted him so much when he was born but had never met.

Baby Brain Weekly Memoir: 13th March 2015

Hello all,

I hope you’ve had a good week and made the most of the glimpses of sunshine we’ve had!

This week feels like it’s flown and had I not jotted down our ongoings I totally would’ve forgotten what we’ve been up to! My baby brain seems to be getting worse which is super worrying given I’m back at work in July!

So Saturday we had one of closest friends, Rithu, and her husband come over. We don’t often get to see them but when we do we have such a laugh and somehow manage to catch up on the ongoings from the last few months!
