19 Months … Arjy’s Antics & an Update!

19 months?! Seriously! I can’t comprehend this whole time moving so fast thing. I’m really struggling with it. I can’t believe soon I’ll be planning his second birthday!

Here’s an update …

  • He now weighs 29.2lbs

  • He’s speaking a lot more
  • He has so many teeth (I’ve never been allowed close enough to count!)
  • He’s in size 18-24 month clothes but can pull off 2-3 with bottoms

New words:

  • “Nine”
  • “Thataa” = Chacha
  • “Mmm” when he’s enjoying his food
  • “Bru” to “Bruno”
  • “Dirty”
  • “Bookh” (semi pronunciation of the k!)

His latest antics:

  • He likes to brush his teeth (hallelujah!)
  • He loves having a bath (again hallelujah!) but there’s a tantrum most nights when we take him out (because the water has gone cold as he’s been in there for so long!)
  • He’s obsessed with being outdoors!

  • He puts me and daddy to sleep and snoring when we both closed our eyes
  • He had days for the first time where he didn’t want to come home after nursery 🙁
  • Baby Brain Apparel’ing himself!

  • This month saw the first time daddy’s been left totally alone to have Arjun for up to two nights as I’ve had to travel for work (you can tell from the picture below that daddy really made an effort with styling Arj’s hair – not! Lol)

    • Sometimes when he’s done poo he’ll hold his nappy and say “uh oh”
    • He pokes his tongue out anytime he sees a camera! Cheeky little thing!

    • Obsessed with nursery and cries when you go to pick him up – he ignores us on our arrival!
    • He loves sticking things up his nose hair grips tissue and crayons
    • If he goes missing, you know you’ll find him somewhere with a roll of tissue in tow!

      • He now also loves sticking things in his ears too!

      • He had his first ride alone at Willow’s Farm!

      • He had his first experience of muddy puddles and absolutely loved it!

      • He does this action when he’s confused (like “whaaaat??”):

      • He loved the farm and feeding the animals there

      • He’s still crazy about dogs – he cried in the fields when we stopped him from going up to a dog there
      • His daily routine post nursery is to grab our shoes, grab his shoes and point to the door towards the garden. Once in the garden he calls “Bru” and runs around with him. After that he demands to go in the garage but also insists on Bruno going in too! (Whatta pic!)

      • He loves touching the buttons on the washing machine … Grr!
      • He’s started drinking from a cup!

      • He regularly pinches my make up and I’ve lost so much of it as a result!
      • He’s a proper “boy” where he loves climbing on things especially sofas… A right dare devil!
      • He always helps me with putting the shopping away

      • He’s started “weighing” himself on the calculator

      • He tells Bruno to get down at any opportunity … He’s so bossy!

      • Regularly wears his bottoms on his head
      • He started football this month and loves it!
      • He tried to feed me Cheerios through FaceTime

      • Loves to read – he asks for “Boo” (book) every night and it can go on for aaaages!
      • He likes to “paint” my nails and also demanded having his painted (shh don’t tell daddy!)

Arjun’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash Pictures by East West Photography … A Few Months Later!

Better late than never right?! … Given Arjun turned 19 months today, I thought this was a relevant throwback!

We had a fun filled photoshoot at the East West Photography studio for Arjun’s first birthday. He stayed by the cake even after the shoot was done – no surprises there right?! Here are a few shots 🙂

How We Spent Our Christmas in Our DIY Winter Wonderland!

This post is a few weeks late due to the craziness of my work schedule at the moment which involves lots of travel! But I wanted to share with you how we spent Christmas 🙂

I love Christmas – the general buzz, the pretty decorations, the overdone houses I pass as I drive down our road (I can talk!) but most of all I love the family time. I’m an absolute sucker for parties, gatherings, themes and doing things for others and Christmas is the most perfect time for all that.

This year Christmas was even more exciting than the last though it did bring a feeling of bitter sweet as we realised how much Arjun has grown so quick. Christmas has definitely changed with a toddler!

I decided to put up our Winter Wonderland earlier than last year to also celebrate the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Having it up earlier, meant we could also host more kiddies Christmas parties. Arjun was so much more aware this year of his surroundings and it really felt like he appreciated them.

It was the cutest thing ever watching him react to his transformed living room. He squealed with excitement and rushed over to hug me – almost as if he knew I’d done it for him! It was so sweet! His reaction to the snow was hilarious – he was scared to step on it and kept jumping off when he reluctantly “dipped” his toe in. He soon warmed up to it! He also decided to use the poor snowman as a broom!

Anytime Arjy’s friends came over, he’d rush over to show them his little Winter Wonderland. I loved seeing his personality come out so strong this year! He had a great time with his buddies in his Winter Wonderland.

For children’s entertainment at our kid’s get togethers, I included crafts activities for the children to make their own Christmas decorations using a hand or footprint (with their mummy’s support), and also gingerbread decorating. I purchased ready made gingerbread men and purchased colourful icing and toppings. My son was the only one to eat his gingerbread instead of decorating it! Next year, as Arjun gets older, I’ll be introducing kiddie games which I’m excited for!

In addition to the Winter Wonderland, this year as he’s more aware, I was also able to introduce an advent calendar. I wasn’t keen on intrudcoing a chocolate one because let’s face it 2 days worth of continuous chocolate would probably get him in to the habit of expecting it, let alone 25! I saw a fab blog post by my blogging buddy Stacey over at Mummy and the Bubbas on non chocolate advent calendars and immediately ordered the V Tech cars one. Arjun loved opening it the first few mornings but by about the 7th day, he’d figured out that there was a treat behind every single door and that he actually didn’t have to wait till tomorrow to open it – he opened the whole thing! But it meant he got to enjoy it. Perhaps next year an advent calendar will work better?! I’d highly recommend the V Tech advent calendar – it’s full of different vehicles and props which include a light up and sound toy too.

As we did last year, Arjun and I also made a Christmas tree decoration this year too. We created a snowman using his footprint 🙂

In addition to the above, we also introduced a Christmas Eve box this year which I had so much fun putting together! Arjun loved unpacking his box and had the most fun with the bubbles and the stickers in his activity box!

For Christmas Eve, Preetam and Arjun had also made me a Christmas Eve chill out hamper which included snacks and DVDs (ps the dog treats were for the dog … I think! Haha!). I was so touched and grateful for the gesture especially as I’d spent the day in the kitchen! We all got in to our matching Christmas pyjamas and vegged out on the sofa and watched the movies they’d picked – “Inside Out” and “Pixels”. Arjun enjoyed pinching my popcorn the little Food Thief! He had his first hot chocolate that evening and loved it! All in all we had a really relaxing enjoyable evening as a family – something I really wish we had more of.

Christmas Day was quite different to the last but in a good way. Arjun was only 6 months last Christmas so wasn’t anywhere near as self-sufficient as he is now. He woke up, had his Christmas breakfast of a Santa crepe made by daddy, inspired by Pinterest!

He then opened all his presents which he found particularly exciting! Last year he was more interested in the wrapping paper than the actual gifts! Haha! He really loved playing with a toy remote control car that my Masi got him (mum’s sister). We spent an hour or so opening, playing and clearing up our gifts before we got ready for the family to come over! Arj made sure he gave Bruno his gift – he’s absolutely obsessed with him at the moment!

The dress code this year was “red and green” – I love theming Christmas as it’s just another way to add to the fun and festivities! Last year we all dressed up as characters.

I found preparing for Christmas this year a lot more relaxing than last year. I wasn’t as highly strung (haha I said it!) or stressed, I wanted to enjoy the prep as well as enjoy my time with the family. It also really helps that both families help with the cooking!

Once the family arrived, Arjun opened all his additional gifts and had lots of fun dancing to music and playing with his new toys! He absolutely LOVED having all his loved ones with him and was so over excited.

He enjoyed his Christmas dinner and was overwhelmed by the variety on his plate! He burnt off his Christmas dinner by dancing (lots) and fell asleep between 2-4 when we played games! You can check out my blog post on my family Christmas games for inspiration for next year!

All in all we had a perfect day! We hope you had a great one too x

Arjy’s 18 Month Antics and an Update

How did he turn a whole year and a half so quick?! I found it quite emotional during the Christmas period as I came to the realisation my baby boy is growing super fast right before my eyes. This is my most favourite age ever and I really do wish I could freeze time!

His 18th month birthday fell on Boxing Day and we celebrated with a Letterbox Cake that we were sent to review (separate blog post coming soon). Arjun really enjoyed the yummy cake!

        New words:
        • His every other word is “uh oh” or “oh no” and he always uses it in the right context!
        • Preetam’s nickname is “Heera” and Arjun’s clearly learnt to mimic the tone in which I call him … Oops!

        • The word “no” is his most frequently used word! He doesn’t always get the context quite right but the prolonged “O” shape of his lips lasting ages after he’s said it is pretty cute!

        • “No more” is something he says when he’s really mad!
        • “Dog” – not surprised he’s learnt this word given how much love he has for them!
        • “Down” when talking to the dogs. He vigorously points his forefinger as he demands them to listen to his command. It’s pretty cute and the dogs generally abide!
        • “Juice”, we don’t give him juice unless it’s freshly squeezed on holiday but I think he’s learnt this from nursery when other kids have juice.
        • “Shoes” aka “dooz”

        Additional Developments:
        • He now is interested in shape sorter toys – though he doesn’t quite get why a hexagon just doesn’t fit in the damn circle slot!
        • He loves to copy – even if it’s not perfectly, he gives it a good go!
        • His understanding amazes me – if I ask him to hand me a tissue, he’ll go and get one and bring it over
        • His mark making has really improved and he’s able to hold a pen comfortably and scribble.
        • He’s now in a bed and is sleeping well. If he does wake during the night, he jumps out of bed and toddles in to our room.

        His latest antics:
        • Loves to get tissue paper off a loo roll and stuff it in the centre of the roll!
        • He’s obsessed with being in the hallway and talking to Bruno through the glass door.
        • He often tells Bruno off and to go in to his room or to get “dowww” (down)
        • His favourite thing in the kitchen are food colouring jars – he always manages to find them!

        • He loves kicking a ball about and he starts Little Kickers this Sunday!

         • He’s definitely the family clown – he loves doing silly things to keep people entertained! Jeta (our cleaner) is often his audience!

        • He decided helping Jeta with the washing was high on his agenda – except he ended up littering the house with most of the laundry instead!

        • He insisted on wearing a hat to bed

        • He’s sensitive to people crying – he rushes over to give them a cuddle and is generally very affectionate (when he wants to be!)

        • His bed blanky is his comforter – he’s never had a comforter before, but he freaks out if it’s not with him and he remembers. He’s even demanded on taking it to nursery a few times.
        • His toothbrush is his new best friend, he brushes so well. He’s also ended up taking his toothbrush to nursery!

        • He had his first nativity play at nursery – he was THAT kid that balled his eyes out!

        • He wanted to take his blanket in with him at bath time
        • He insisted on sitting in Bruno’s room to eat his breakfast
        • He went through a phase of wearing his wellies inside the house
        • He loves to feed the dogs and regularly slips Chico some food on the sly!

        • He now puts his teddy bears to sleep – it’s the cutest! But once they’ve “fallen asleep”, he lifts the blanky off them and shouts “no! no!” Haha!

        • He loves giving his teddies cuddles and often kisses them

        • He does matha tekh every morning to a picture of the Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji, blows them a kiss and waves bye bye. It makes my heart melt.

        • He wanted to be wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper!
        • He uses everything and anything as a hat.

        • He loves to dance

        • He talks … a lot!

        • He had his first hot chocolate

        • He received his first Christmas Eve box!
        • He loves to play tabla and uses everything as a drum – including Preetam’s protein powder containers!

        • His first night in his new bed, he put all his teddies to sleep on his pillow and ended up with no space on the pillow for his own little head!

        • He loves banging on any sort of drum! … Never a quiet moment in our house.

        • He decided our upstairs needed a make over!

        • … and he soon learnt the hard way!

        • He loves to sing and a video of him went viral this month – honestly have no idea where he gets his hilarious personality from!

        • We baked Gingerbread Men!

What we’ve been up to this month:
        • We decorated the house in to our own Christmas Winter Wonderland and Arjun absolutely loved it – his reaction to the “snow” was hilarious!

        • We met Santa (twice!)

        • We celebrated my one year blog anniversary!
        • Arjy had his second Christmas and it was even more enjoyable than the first! I’ll be blogging about this separately soon!

Our Toddler’s Transition from Cot to Bed!

I’d been pondering over the idea on whether to move Arjun in to a bed for a while. I got lots of mixed responses but ultimately I knew I wanted to do what was best for him. Every child is different. Here are the reasons why I felt he was ready:

        • I often noticed he felt agitated being confined in his cot bed
        • He can now climb up and down a bed by himself so I knew he had the freedom to get out if he needed to and being restricted to do so was frustrating for him
        • As it feels like he’s suddenly grown over the last few weeks – he’s no longer a baby 🙁

Just before Christmas, I was speaking to a colleague at work who has a baby the same age as Arjun and who’d recently moved her baby girl from a cot to a bed. Kelly’s positive experience inspired me and pushed me over the edge to give it a go!

I woke up the next morning and decided I wanted to remove the side bar of Arjun’s cot bed to make it a bed.

I spent the day rearranging bits of Arjun’s room by moving all his toys from our bedroom in to his. I also included a little table for him and removed his baby cot mobile and replaced it with the clouds mobile I was gifted. I hung up his first year timeline from his birthday party so that the room felt different and more exciting for him in line with the change from cot to bed. Arjun was really excited by his new room and spent part of the day building towers and playing with his cars in his room. It made me happy to see him feel so comfortable in his, what felt like new, surroundings.

That evening, Preetam removed the side bar. I hadn’t purchased a bed guard at this point as the decision was quite spontaneous – the same way it was when I’d decided Arjun was ready to move from our bedroom to his own, I’d made the right decision then so I trusted my gut this time too. As we didn’t have a cot guard, I cushioned the floor incase he did fall off and ordered one from Amazon Prime that same evening for it to be delivered the next day.  I carefully selected the guard based on reviews and recommendations.   We ended up going for the BabyDan Wooden Bed Guard in white to match the nursery furniture.

I immediately noticed a positive reaction from Arjun, he climbed in to his bed himself and jumped out himself putting his teddies on the pillow one by one patting them to sleep. It was so adorable! By the time he’d placed all his teddies on the pillow, he was left with no space to sleep himself! Haha! So he awkwardly plumped himself on the other side. He asked my sister to read him a book (the same one about ten times!), and once he was done, he kissed Mr Sun goodnight about ten times (his new favourite thing is The Gro Clock), kissed me good night and lay down. He didn’t cry when we left the room. This was something new for me – I think the fact that he didn’t feel trapped made him feel less claustrophobic.

He toddled in to our room ten minutes later carrying his blanky asking for a cuddle. He ended up falling asleep in our bed (which is the case most nights!) and we then moved him in to his own cot. Arjun slept through the night and came in to our room at about 6am the following morning. It was the sweetest thing ever!

We introduced the bed guard the following day and are so pleased with it. I was a little apprehensive on how he’d react to it as I didn’t want him to feel trapped again. Nor did I want him to stand up against it and topple over. The BabyDan Wooden Bed Guard feels sturdy and it’s easy to glide across if you want to change the positioning. The instructions suggest you attach it around the mattress, however we decided to put it around the base of the cot just under the mattress. We positioned it closer to where his head lays than the by his feet as we wanted to ensure he has enough room to be able to get out of the bed if he wishes without the need to try and jump over.

We’re really glad with how things are going since transitioning, although most nights Arjun prefers to fall asleep in our bed and we then move him in to his own, if he’s in a really tired state, he’ll happily fall asleep in his bed.

If he does wake during the night, there are no more tears, he gets out of his cot and comes in to our room where we’ll have cuddles and he’ll usually fall back asleep. We have sensor lights in the landing which means the moment he steps out of his bedroom, the hall way lights up making it safe for him. We also ensure the other bedroom and bathroom doors are closed as well as the stair gate being locked. The quality of our sleep as well as his has definitely improved too! Haha!

As well as better sleep and generally being more at peace, Arjun often gets in to his bed by himself to read a book or play with his teddies. Something he never did in his cot!

Kelly had shared with me how she’d purchased new bedding when introducing the bed to her daughter. I really wanted to do this for Arjun too but as it was such a spontaneous decision, I didn’t get the chance to. Luckily Arjun was more than excited by the prospect of not having a barrier preventing him from escaping than noticing his bedding.

It’s now on my to do list to order some super cute bedding! I’ll also be introducing him to his new duck feather duvet for these winter nights 

When did you move your babies to a bed?x

13 Ways Christmas Has Changed Since Having a Baby …

        Here goes…!

        1) It’s pretty tempting to wrap wrapping paper as its more appreciated!

        2) Long gone are the days where our gifts are wrapped with precision and decorated with bows and ribbon … Now presents look like our dog has wrapped them with a blindfold on as it’s a race against time to get them wrapped before the toddler decides he wants to get involved!

        3) Doubling up on wrapping paper is pretty normal – re-wrapping gifts in our household is highly likely as half of them get opened by the toddler who believes everything is for him.

        4) A handprint homemade Christmas tree decoration is mandatory.

        5) A following year calendar featuring your child is a staple gift for the grandparents every year!

        6) The cutest gifts come from the tiny tot …  Hubby can always rely on the lovely nursery staff to reduce you to tears with the cutest creations by your little bub when he forgets to take care of the gift from the baby!

        7) It’s only fair to decorate your house modestly like there’s no tomorrow.

        8) Your Christmas shopping list suddenly doubles (and so does the amount of wrapping!) as your baby has an even bigger social circle than you do.

        9) Baubles need to be placed tactfully on the tree, or else could be mistaken for a football/basketball by the toddler.

        10) Wearing matching family Christmas pyjamas is now a “thing”!

        11) Remembering that Santa is ONE person despite his various forms when communicating with the little ones.

         12) Your toddler insists on being wrapped too.

        13) We attempted festive baking… There’s a first!

How has Christmas changed for you?x

        You Baby Me Mummy

        CryMummy! … A Memoir

Today when I picked Arjun up, it was a pretty standard nursery pick up. I walked in, gazed around the room wondering where my little monster was. I caught a glimpse of a sleeping baby with two curly bunches and assumed it was him (but it was actually a little girl!) … And then the nursery staff told me he was tucked away in the ball pool.

I don’t know why but whenever I walk in to nursery, my heart bursts with so much emotion seeing Arjun. It’s really odd and I thought I’d feel it less as time passed, but if anything it grows each day. I often find myself day dreaming about Arjun when I’m not with him. The journey from work to nursery feels like the longest journey ever and I literally run down the corridor when I get there!

Watching him play in the ball pool at nursery is different to watching him play at home. It’s a different environment. At home I don’t see him playing with other kids that often. And when he is playing with other kids, I’m usually too distracted entertaining the mummies to appreciate how heart warming it is watching my not so tiny grown up little boy. At home he’s in the comfort of our presence. I can’t quite articulate it but when I see him in a new surrounding, especially when he’s unaware of my presence, I get a feeling I can’t describe. I feel happy, I feel sad, I feel a heaviness in my heart, I feel a lump in my throat but most of all I feel so proud – he amazes me every single day. We created that little human being. He lived inside me for 9 whole months and now here he is, thriving in this big world. Enjoying life’s simple pleasures. I always want him to be that way.

Perhaps I see his independent play in a magnified way when I think of him in the future – except now he’s still dependent on me. As he grows, so will his independence.

I need to remind myself to cherish the NOW. Relish those precious moments watching him play and interact gently with his buddies oblivious to my presence in the room. Cherish this time where he rushes over to me as soon as he hears my voice or spots me in the room when I go to pick him up – I can feel his tiny heart beating so fast against me as I embrace him with excitement. Make the most of the extra cuddles he wants before I put him in his car seat after nursery. I know it isn’t going to last forever.

Today, Arjun’s key worker handed me a little Christmas card he’d made for Preetam and I. And I know Arjun didn’t write the poem but when I got home and read it – it reduced me to tears. Why? Because those four little lines captured exactly how I feel above.

I don’t do well with change and I’m not sure how on earth I’m going to cope when he’s a grown little boy not interested in making hand printed homemade cards for us (though I doubt he even is now! Thank god for nursery nurses!). He’s growing so fast. How? How is time flying past this quick? I really wish I could hit the pause button. This is my favourite age.

These special little memories are ones I’ll cherish forever and I’m so grateful I started my blog to be able to capture and journal them. I’m also so grateful to Arjun’s nursery nurses and key worker for this special little gift in particular – it’s my favourite one so far x
Ps apologies for this not being amazingly written but it’s an unedited memo x

Our Trip to Meet Santa (Harrods Grotto) & Winter Wonderland!

We visited Santa at the Harrods Grotto last year too and I think it’s already become a bit of a family tradition to go every year! Arjun was only 6 months last year and it’s hard to believe a year has passed by already!

We decided to also book the afternoon tea this year as we’ve not tried the Harrods afternoon tea before and also Arjun would be able to enjoy it with us.

Our slot to meet Santa was booked for 12.30 and afternoon tea was at 1.30 – a little bit later than Arjun’s usual lunch time but he had a quick pouch before going in meet Santa to tie him over till lunch.

You’re required to queue up at the designated time slot to meet Santa so if you do go earlier, be prepared to have to kill time (and spend money!) whilst waiting.  We ended up getting there about half an hour earlier so walked around.  It was really warm and Arjun doesn’t take too kindly to the heat so got frustrated after a little while.

Thankfully, by the time we were queuing, he was in much better spirits. There are several little games for children to play – they had the same last year but we didn’t get to enjoy any of them as Arjun was too small to play.

This year they had a presents sorting game which Arjun absoltueloy loved (it was similar to basketball for him!).  He didn’t want to move from this game but the staff were super friendly and patient and were more than happy to have him which was really nice.

The second was a scale for children (and parents) to stand on which indicates whether you’ve been a good girl/boy this year to report back to Santa.  Arjun didn’t really know what was going on here but was happy to stand on it.

The third was another he loved – a giant walk on piano.  He spent ages walking up and down making music.

If you’re after a grotto that has lots of reindeers and the traditional niceties like letter writing to Santa, this isn’t that place but the games and  decor kept Arjun really entertained till it came to our turn to meet Santa. I’m not sure older kids would be as entertained.

There are two places that pictures get taken, one on a scene setter – last year’s was a sleigh, and this years were large boxes infront of a festive backdrop. I personally preferred last years.  The second is with Santa.

We got in to meet Santa and were immediately impressed by the fact that Santa is now bi-lingual! He greeted us with “Satsriakal tusi teek ho” (hello and “how are you” in Punjabi) and Arjun immediately warmed to him! I was a bit apprehensive about how he’d react to Santa – he was super happy last year but this year I knew he’d be more aware and you often hear of children reacting to Santa badly.  But Arjun loved him.  Perhaps as he’s used to long beards from his granddaddies.

Santa asked Arjun what he’d like for Christmas, to which Arjun jumped off and walked towards the fireplace and pointed towards a little mouse figurine – lucky for Santa as the gift was a jingle box with a picture of a mouse on one side! How’s that for luck!? In addition to the jingle box, his little toy satchel included a giant chocolate coin and a badge which he refused to part with!

We then went to view our pictures – they didn’t come out great (only one of each where we’re all looking at the camera!) but we purchased two for our keepsake. It took a while for them to process due to some issue or another with the till which resulted in a very grumpy and hungry Arjun!

We then headed to The Georgian for afternoon tea.  I love how spacious and open the setting is here.  Everything is also super fancy although not the same extent as the afternoon tea at The Dorchester.  It’s a lot more casual and the spread of food isn’t as great.  However, it was all yummy.  Arjun really enjoyed a plain scone and my favourite thing was the chocolate brownie – the best I’ve ever tasted!

After Harrods, we spontaneously decided to head to Winter Wonderland.  We’d parked our car at the Cadogan Place NCP car park where we bagged an absolute bargin by booking in advance as it was on offer from £80 for the whole day to £10!  The location of the car park is central to Hyde Park and Harrods so Winter Wonderland was a short distance away and we were all in a good mood!

Again, we’d visited here last year but we’d booked the grotto a lot later in the month and closer to Christmas which meant Winter Wonderland was absolutely rammed!  This year it was a lot more enjoyable for several reasons.  Firstly because it wasn’t so chaotic and you could actually enjoy walking around without bumping in to others.  Secondly Arjun could enjoy it this year as he’s a lot more aware of his surroundings.

I was so excited to take him to Santa Land given he’d appreciate it more this year than last! He got to enjoy two rides (one he went on twice!), got to meet Santa again (wow twice in one day!) and he got gifted his favorite thing ever – STICKERS!

I was also impressed by the increase in vegetarian food available this year – I’m not sure if we missed it all last year due to the rush or if there is a genuine increase in presence of veggie food but I was gutted that I’d just eaten and couldn’t enjoy all the yummy stuff they had!

All in all, we had a fabulous family day out!x

Arj’s 17 Month Update … The Month of Slopes and Stairs!

My goodness, I can’t believe my angel is almost a year and a half. Having a child really makes you appreciate how fast life whizzes by and how precious time is!

        Here’s his 17 month update:

        • He visited his fourth country outside of home – Bali

        • He now mimics – even your tone and voice volume – if you whisper, he whispers! If you scream, he screams! If you roar, he roars!

        • He tried his first Oreo … It was love at first bite
        • He has now found a new love for water and was confident enough to jump in when in Bali (in to daddy’s arms)

        • He loves to wear everyone else’s shoes

        image

        • He’s full of quirky antics and often has a tantrum if he doesn’t get his own way!

        • He copies everything like blowing on hot food to cool it down
        • He loves climbing up stairs!

        • … And ladders!

        • He loves to kick a ball about
        • He says “hiya”
        • His favourite toy this month is a very real looking Lizard toy!

        • He’s lost his appetite since chicken pox 🙁
        • He likes to dance to Mickey Mouse hot dog
        • He likes broccoli
        • He likes to “fix” things

        • He hates anything on his feet
        • He amazes me daily – for example he knows to swap his tooth brush from one hand to the other when we get him dressed to slip his arm in to his sleeve and then swaps hands for the other arm.
        • He understands to throw rubbish in the bin
        • We launched Baby Brain Apparel 🙂

        • He puts things back when he helps himself to a snack
